Qnbn and MEEZA form strategic partnership
MEEZA to utilize Qatar National Broadband Network infrastructure
Qatar National Broadband Network (Qnbn) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with MEEZA, to improve delivery of MEEZA's enterprise services.
Under the agreement, MEEZA's data centres will connect to Qnbn's fibre network to support its core services including disaster recovery, cloud data storage and data centres.
Qnbn's network connectivity will offer MEEZA passive fibre Point-to-Point (P2P) connectivity with dedicated and geo-redundant links will also cover operational aspects and periodic maintenance. The P2P network links directly to a central office through a dedicated fibre, offering distinct flexibility, cost-efficiency and high-volume symmetrical bandwidth when compared to shared medium networks. Qnbn's fibre optic infrastructure will connect MEEZA's main data centres (M-VAULT 1 and M-VAULT 3) in QSTP (Qatar Science and Technology Park) and M-VAULT 2 at Umm Qarn.
Ghada Philippe El-Rassi, chief executive officer at MEEZA said: "Qnbn's network infrastructure will provide a national-level platform to drive the various ICT applications and advanced technologies employed today by MEEZA to provide end-to-end turnkey IT solutions further supporting the telecommunications sector in Qatar."
Mohamed Ali Al-Mannai, chief executive officer at Qnbn commented: "We are delighted to sign this agreement with a leading IT solution and service provider like MEEZA. This further reinforces Qnbn's capabilities of providing cutting-edge private networks on an enterprise level."
