Touchmate takes aim at e-tailers
Mobile devices maker wants to grow online presence across the MEA region
UAE-based tablet and smartphone maker Touchmate has revealed that it's participating at DISTREE Middle East 2014 with the aim of forging alliances with e-tailers in the region.
Touchmate said the region's premier consumer electronics expo provides an ideal platform for the company to meet with existing retail partners and forge new partnerships.
Kamal Kumar, general manager at Touchmate, said the company has returned to DISTREE this year with the aim of forging closer ties with emerging e-tailers. "We have successfully managed to partner with power retailers, hyper-market stores and the traditional dealer channel in GCC, Levant and Africa region," he said.
Kumar said targeting e-tailers across the MEA region is a natural progression for Touchmate as this segment of the retail channel is garnering momentum and wider appeal from vendors and distributors. "We want to enhance the Touchmate brand to the online business as this is the future of retail," he noted.
Kumar added that the strategy to work with e-tailers is inline with the company's plan to broaden its base and reach out to online partners that have global reach. "As Touchmate, we have this year decided to participate in DISTREE Events in Monte Carlo, Middle East, Africa, Russia and Asia," he explained. "We want to promote this Dubai-based brand to the rest of the world.
Kumar said the company is showcasing several product lines at the Abu Dhabi event including three tablet lines built on Intel's microprocessor platform and four models of smartphones. "We have delayed out smartphone launch because we wanted to make sure that we bring products that give consumers value for money," he said.
He explained that throughout the three-day consumer electronics exhibition, Touchmate will be meeting retailers and e-tailers from across the Middle East region.
