Samsung chairman Lee hospitalised for heart-attack symptoms
Now in stable condition after treatment at Samsung Medical Center
Lee Kun-hee, the 72-year-old chairman of Samsung Electronics was admitted to hospital late last night with symptoms of cardiac arrest, Reuters reported.
Lee received CPR and was subsequently moved to Samsung Medical Center and received further treatment earlier today for acute myocardial infarction. He is now in stable condition, according to the Center.
Lee has had problems with his respiratory system since undergoing surgery for lung cancer in 1999. He was admitted to hospital last August with symptoms of light pneumonia.
Lee has appointed a number of his children to senior positions in Samsung Electronics. His son, vice chairman Jay Y. Lee, is widely expected to succeed him as chairman.
