DCG to host two-day IT trade fair
Local IT body moves to help high street resellers reach out to SMB clients
The Dubai Computer Group (DCG) has revealed that it will host a two-day IT Trade Fair on 14th and 15th May at the Grand Excelsior Hotel (Old Dhow Palace) in Dubai's Bur Dubai business district.
The trade exhibition, which is sponsored by Asbis Middle East, is limited to 30 stands for DCG members only and is aimed at allowing high street resellers to display product and solutions offerings to SMB and consumer clients that will attend the show.
According to DCG, no physical sales will be allowed at the show although participants will be able to display products at their stalls and hold face-to-face meetings with customers and potential clients, the local IT trade association said in a statement.
Shailendra Rughwani, president at DCG, said the association is delighted to be organising the event that will accord all DCG members that will participate an opportunity to directly interact with clients in the Dubai channel. "We are delighted to be organising the first dedicated DCG IT Trade Fair that will offer resellers the opportunity to hear directly from their clients and potential customers," he said.
Rughwani said the rate per stall is AED 2,000 for two days for members and the DCG has also invited several industry experts in banking, insurance, business management and health to share insights with reseller companies that will participate. "We have also extended our invite to media partners that cover the Middle East channel landscape and have all confirmed their participation," he said.
Rughwani pointed out that the DCG IT Trade Showis part of the association's broader awareness campaigns targeted at resellers operating in the Dubai channel with the view to raising the profile and actitivities the local IT trade body is rolling out in 2014 and beyond.
