Dell to unveil latest mobile solutions at GITEX
The Dell Venue 7 is said to be an budget Android-based tablet designed for longevity.

Dell will unveil an expanded range of mobile and tablet solutions at GITEX Shopper this week.

The company said its range, which will be displayed at the four-day event starting on 23 April at Dubai World Trade Centre, is to meet the needs of customers whose professional and personal connectivity requirements now overlap on a daily basis. Dell has broadened its portfolio of tablets for business and personal users.

Pearce Clune, client solutions director of emerging markets EMEA at Dell said: "Consumers today are looking for mobile solutions that are not only reliable and easy to use, but are packed with all of the features they require to accommodate both their personal and work needs. We're incredibly excited about the line-up of tablets that we can now offer. The breadth of the range means there is something to suit the connectivity needs of every customer."

The full range of products on display at GITEX will include: Venue 7, Venue 8, Venue 8 Pro, Venue 11 Pro; XPS 12, XPS 13, XPS 15; Inspiron 3000, Inspiron 5000; and Alienware 14, Alienware 17, Alienware 18.

Dell's Venue range incorporates 8- and 11-inch Windows-based tablets with keyboard and stylus options, as well as 7- and 8-inch Android tablets.

The Venue 8 Pro runs Windows 8.1, has an HD IPS display, advanced connectivity options and provides long battery life. Office 2013 Home & Student is also included with the device, and Dell Active Stylus is optional.

Dell Venue 11 Pro is also based on Windows 8.1 and features a detachable keyboard and is designed to have the power of an Ultrabook. It has a user removable/replaceable battery, and a large Full HD display with wide viewing angles for reading and creating content while mobile.

Both Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8 Android-based tablets are in the budget range and have been designed for longevity.

New touch-enabled Inspiron 3000 and 5000 ranges will also be introduced as the latest additions of the Inspiron laptop family.

The Inspiron 14, 15 and 17 5000-series laptops are engineered for long battery life in thin designs. The 15- and 17-inch laptops both feature full HD touch display. Fast long-range 802.11ac WiFi features on the 14- and 15-inch laptops as well as 10-finger capacitive touch for zooming, tapping and scrolling through documents or social media status updates.

All the laptops in this range are powered by fourth-generation Intel Core i processors and offer AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce discrete graphics as an option. They come standard with Waves MaxxAudio and the inclusion of Dell PocketCloud and 20GB cloud storage with Dropbox.  

The 3000 Series comes in 14-inch and 15-inch formats, with touch displays, full HD resolution and the latest processing technology.

Other products on display will include the XPS 15 multimedia laptop, which boasts a thin design and offers as an option the first 15.6-inch Quad HD+ (3200 X 1800) display in the world, which Dell said is the highest resolution available on a laptop of that size.

The XPS 15 has both fourth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 quad core processor options and NVIDIA discrete graphics options.

Dell's full array of laptops and tablets will be displayed by its retail partners at GITEX Shopper, including Jacky's, Jumbo, Plug-ins, Sharaf DG, Emax, and e-City.
