ESET launch of online store for security solutions

Security vendor anticipates 10% of Middle East sales will be redirected via new online channel

Security Solutions vendor ESET has announced the launch of its web store in order to cater for the growing number of online shoppers in the region.

The store will serve both business and home customers in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, KSA, Kuwait, Jordan and Yemen. The site has been developed in co-operation with CyberSource and Network International as ESET has marked the safety and security of its online customers as one of the top priorities.  

Pradeesh VS, general manager at ESET Middle East said: "Across the region, the trend towards online shopping is evident and we want our solutions and the associated customer support to be as easily available to our customers as possible. At the same time, we have ensured that we can offer this convenience in the most secure manner by implementing a number of technologies and policies that will best safeguard the privacy of our customers."

The online store, will sell licenses to ESET's Smart Security 7; NOD32 Antivirus 7 for Windows based PCs; ESET Cyber Security and ESET Cyber Security PRO for Apple Mac computers as well as ESET Mobile security for mobile device protection.

Once purchased, the security software can be downloaded via the web and licenses sent via email. According to ESET, the typical size of ‘light' downloads is 1500KB which will enable customers to access and use the software in minutes.

For businesses, the ESET say it will provide endpoint protection, mail security and file security solutions.

Existing ESET customers will have the ability to renew their licenses, increase their subscription, activate licenses and recover lost licenses.

"This launch follows our commitment to satisfying our customers to the fullest and providing them with the security they need in order to purchase online. As a security company we understand the critical importance of secure online transactions and we are in a continuous effort to improve ourselves and educate the public in matters related to online transactions and security," Pradeesh added.

Customers can pay online for their purchases via credit or debit card or PayPal. In the future Eset will accept bank transfers.
