Business internet package for users of Equinix/datamena DX1 data centre

Orixcom offering $10/MB business Internet
Grenville: The Orixcom package will meet the needs of business for low cost internet access.

Connectivity and cloud services provider Orixcom is offering $10 per MB business internet access for users in the Equinix/datamena DX1 data centre in Dubai.

The data centre is a major hub for digital services and content provision to the Middle East region. The new package is intended to offer competitive pricing that Orixcom says is "dramatically lower" than prices business customers pay today.

Paul Black, Director of Telecoms and Media at IDC commented "Orixcom is unique in introducing this new pricing for internet access which provides clarity and transparency for customers. This pricing structure is a significant departure from the usual pricing strategy in the region and as a result opens up a host of possible services and potential benefits for a wider range of customers in Equinix DX1."

Andrew Grenville, CEO of Orixcom, added: "We are driven by our customers' needs, and they've clearly told us what those are. So today we are announcing another of our firsts, the launch of $10/Mb business internet access in Equinix DX1. Previously this service has been unavailable and similar types of services were priced significantly higher. Now customers have a realistically priced option for low-cost business internet access, which really opens up connectivity to the Middle East and supports the region's ambition to advance in the critical area of business communications."
