SAP names head for Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan & Yemen
Rami Amkieh will help in building a solid partner ecosystem and business
SAP MENA has announced the appointment of Rami Amkieh as country manager for Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Yemen.
The business apps vendor said Amkieh will report directly to Gergi Abboud, managing director - Gulf and Pakistan at SAP MENA. The company stated that Amkieh's role is an integral part of SAP's ambitious expansion in the region.
In his new role, Amkieh will be responsible for driving all aspects of SAP's business operations, including building on the company's customer base, building and shifting market capacity, fostering a vibrant partner and ecosystem presence, increasing brand awareness, and building strategic partnerships with both the private and public sector.
"Rami has made invaluable contributions to building SAP's business in the region over the past few years, and is now set to play an even more significant role as we step up our operations in Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Yemen," said Abboud.
Amkieh added: "I am delighted to take on this role and help to drive SAP's growth in the region. My remit includes some incredibly dynamic and potential-rich markets, and I have no doubt that SAP will increasingly deliver transformation solutions in these areas, from ERP to cutting-edge innovations in mobility, big data, analytics, the cloud and beyond."
Amkieh joined SAP in 2006 as a territory sales manager for the GCC region, focusing on small to mid-market engineering, construction and operations. In 2009, he became senior account executive for large enterprise in the Gulf and North Africa regions and two years later he took on the role as regional sales manager for Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Prior to joining SAP, Amkieh worked in Saudi Arabi as business development manager at BT-Applied Technology.
