Christine Heckart says 'it is an exciting time to join the company'
Network specialist Brocade has today announced the appointment of Christine Heckart as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Brocade aims to position itself as the "network provider of choice to the world’s data centres" and is hoping that Heckart will lead the way in the drive toward this status.
Lloyd Carney, CEO at Brocade said: “Christine’s marketing experience and expertise are well suited to help propel Brocade forward in the global marketplace to drive demand for our next-generation solutions.”
Heckart is described as an industry veteran who has held marketing leadership positions at a number of networking and technology companies. She has previously worked with NetApp, Juniper Networks and Microsoft and in 2011 was appointed to the board of directors of the Lam Research Corporation, a supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the worldwide semiconductor industry. She has experience in cloud-based IT solutions, gained from her role as executive vice president of Strategy, Marketing, People and Systems at ServiceSource.
Heckart said that it is “an exciting time to join the company, I am excited by Brocade’s differentiated solutions, and believe we are well positioned to drive the next wave of data centre innovation”.
Heckart's efforts will be focused on increasing Brocade's brand recognition in network-functions virtualisation (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) technologies and executing demand-generation programmes across the globe.
Research firm, MarketsandMarkets has predicted that the global data centre networking market will be worth $21.85bn by 2018. Brocade hopes to position itself as the "network provider of choice" for this highly demanding sector.
