Samsung launches latest camera and lenses in UAE

The NX30 from multi-national electronics giant Samsung is said to be perfect for photographers who "aspire to be recognised for their expertise". The 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor is designed to enhance image sharpness and colour fidelity.

The NX30 is supported by photojournalist David Alan who said: "As a professional magazine photographer, I would use this camera on any assignment. I can get quality high-resolution photographs... and the Wi-Fi capabilities of the camera mean I can share my images instantly when I need to."

Designed for fast and accurate auto focusing, the NX30 features the Samsung NX AF System II; a 1/8000 sec Shutter Speed;  9 frames per second (FPS) Continuous Shooting function; and a Tiltable Electronic Viewfinder (XGA, 2,359K-dot resolution), which gives an 80-degree tilt. It has a 76.7mm (3.0-inch) Super AMOLED Swivel and Touch Display, which allows 180-degree movement from side to side and upward, and downward movement for up to 270 degrees.

Raj Varma, HOD - Mobility Sales Group, Samsung said: "The NX30 is the next-generation premium, high-performance Compact System Camera in Samsung's already award-winning NX series. The NX30 allows photographers to shoot with confidence, providing a seamless ability to capture moments and share them immediately, delivering exceptionally beautiful photographs while creating an unmatched photo-sharing experience.

"By launching NX30, we aim to strengthen our leading position in the compact system camera industry. We are confident that the NX30 will deliver the best user experience and thus be loved by many consumers."

Featuring NFC (near field communication) and Wi-Fi capabilities, the NX30 offers a "Tag & Go" function, which lets users upload their images instantly, pairing the NX30 with NFC-enabled smartphones and tablets. It also features photo beam, which enables users to transfer images or videos to smartphones or tablets by touching the two devices together.

MobileLink lets users select multiple images to send to four different devices at one time rather than taking shots on each individual device; AutoShare automatically sends every photo taken to the user's smartphone or tablet; and Remote Viewfinder Pro enables the user to snap shots remotely. Manual settings can still be accessed so that photographers can retain camera control but also have another option as to how they want to frame their shot.

The NX30 is the first camera to offer direct-to-Dropbox uploading and also Flickr (in some regions), which enables more storage space for the user.

The DRIMeIV Image Processor enables 3D capture of scenes and subjects via the Samsung 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens. The 3D images and videos can be displayed on compatible 3D devices. It also features a DSP imaging engine and Full HD 1080/60p movie capabilities. It has high light-sensitivity with a range from ISO100-25600, OIS Duo technology and OLED Colour.

Also released along side the NX30 are two new lenses:

The 16-50mm F2-2.8 S ED OIS lens is the first Premium "S" Series lens. It has a versatile standard zoom angle of view that allows for flexibility to take photos at desired angles and vantage points. It is also splash and dust proof.

The 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS lens is designed for everyday use as well as for photographers who travel. It is lightweight, weighing 111g with a 31mm frame, has wide-angle optical performance, and includes Silent Auto Focusing and a low zooming noise. This lens also features an Electro zoom with a seesaw-type button. This feature allows photographers to click to zoom and take a photo from any view or angle, similar to a compact camera.
