New brand of smartphones launched in the Middle East
Eurostar Group and Fly have joined forces to release a new range of smartphones
British mobile phone brand Fly has linked up with Dubai-based Eurostar Group to launch affordable smart phones.
‘Fly by Eurostar' is the name of the new brand which includes six models of smartphones which are available in shops and online today.
Eurostar Group and Fly have come together to explore the Middle East Market. At a press conference this morning, the companies promised to offer consumers good value for money with no compromise on quality.
Asked if ‘Fly by Eurostar' can compete with Samsung, Blackberry, Nokia, Apple, Youssef Saidi, Group COO of Eurostar Group, Dubai said: "No we are not an A Brand, we are a well recognised B Brand and we are targeting the mass market. We want to offer to all the consumers the right specifications so that they can be proud having the ‘Fly By Eurostar' products in their hands, showing it to their friends and families and experiencing pretty much the same experience that they may experience if they had a Samsung or Nokia"
The six smartphones range from AED 199 - 699 and will be sold in retail stores, as well online as the company has partnered with souq.com.
Suresh Radhakrishnan, Group CEO for Fly, added: "While we offer value, there is no way we compromise on quality. The quality of our products is no way inferior to that of Samsung and you may find it's actually quite superior to many of the other companies."
Fly was founded in the UK but its phones are made in China and it operates mainly in the mobile phone markets of Russia, Ukraine, India, Southern Europe and the CIS. Radhakrishnan claimed that they are currently the number two brand in Russia behind Samsung but he expects to be number one this year.
The Fly by Eurostar range are android smart phones which offer dual sim capacity, lightweight handsets and high resolution cameras.
