FDC ProValue gets QNAP distribution franchise
Distributor to cover MENA, Levant and central Asia regions
FDC ProValue, a value division for regional distributor FDC International, has signed a distribution agreement with QNAP, a NAS and surveillance products provider.
Under the accord, FDC ProValue will supply channel partners in Middle East, North Africa, Levant and central Asia with the full range of QNAP's NAS products, from 1 bay to 24 Bay NAS and 12/16 Bay expansion units.
Ram Praveen, business unit manager - ProValue Division at FDC International, said the company has been distributing two major brand of enterprise storage in the market. "FDC will compliment the QNAP NAS offerings along with the storage brands it has in its stable," he said.
Praveen added that the deal to sign QNAP is in line with the company's vision of providing cloud solutions to channel partners across the region.
He explained that FDC ProValue decided to partner with QNAP because the company has an established track record in the Middle East NAS market. "QNAP fits into our portfolio like a glove. Because we have been a distributor of HDDs in theregional channel from inception, QNAP's NAS products complement out solutions offerings to channel partners.
Praveen said as ProValue Division is the VAD arm of FDC International, the plan is to enhance the company's solutions offering by complementing FDC's broadline products distribution strategy. "With this partnership, the company will be rolling out training programmes for partners on QNAP's offerings. We cover a wide geography and the channel in different countries need a distributor that is able to provide support through training programmes, product updates and partner events," he said.
