StorIT Distribution sets up new subsidiary
New Data Science Technologies to focus on big data analytics
StorIT, a data management solutions distributor has launched a new subsidiary, Data Science Technologies (DST), a business unit the company says will focus on big data analytics and integration services.
A wholly owned subsidiary of StorIT Distribution, DST will function as an independent company focused on providing integration services and application development capabilities related to big data analytics to channel partners across the Middle East region.
StorIT said DST has initiated a channel development programme to enable reseller partners with the necessary skills to identify and address the high growth potential opportunities in the Middle East region.
"Big data is no longer a buzzword but has become one of the biggest technology trends today with more companies realising the potential of harnessing their structured and unstructured data in order to gain a competitive edge. This presents opportunities for the channel but not many can capitalise on these disruptive technologies because of the sheer scale of knowledge and skilled resources required to translate the potential of big data in enterprise organisations into actionable insights," said Suren Vedantham, group managing director at StorIT Distribution.
"Organisations, in both private and public sector are drastically ramping up investments in big data analytics as the hype around it in the last couple of years is turning into value proposition that can define their core competencies. Enterprises across the world are planning to implement predictive analytics, which can help use big data to increase productivity and profitability in all areas of business. DST has got the right pool of data scientists, developers, consultants, business practitioners and visionaries, who constitute the Big Data Practice, with industry-specific experience and skills to deliver appropriate solutions" Vedantham added.
DST has expertise in Hadoop, MapR, MapReduce, Greenplum, Elastic Search, Python, MongoDB, Redis Solr and, will offer consulting and integration services in the big data analytics space.
