HH Sheikh Mohammed receives Apple CEO
Apple's Tim Cook was spotted in Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, hosted Apple CEO Tim Cook during a visit to Dubai yesterday.

Sheikh Maktoum and Cook discussed a number of issues, including IT's role in development and education.

While no official reason was given for the visit by Apple, there was some speculation that Apple may sign a deal to provide state education establishments with Apple devices.

Cook also met with a number of Apple retailers and visited the Dubai Mall, raising further speculation that the company, which does not have an official Apple store in the country, may be looking for locations for a flagship UAE store.
