Ireland’s Miagen wins Etihad Airways contract
Financial planning software solutions vendor to open UAE office in 2014
Irish financial analysis software firm Miagen this week won a contract with Etihad Airways to help the national carrier develop and model its five-year plan for growth through the use of Miagen's integration product Rocket.
The announcement was made during the Enterprise Ireland Trade and Investment Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE.
Following the announcement of the deal, Miagen said it would be expanding its international operations to the UAE in 2014, where it is scheduled to open an office within the next six months. Miagen is currently undergoing a growth phase that focuses heavily on the Middle Eastern market. The company is currently in the process of signing a deal with Aramex, based in Jordan.
Established in Ireland, Miagen has offices in Dublin, London and Doha and specialises in the design and implementation of industry-specific models to solve complex financial planning needs for clients including QatarGas and Royal Jet.
In partnership with US-based cloud business analytics provider Adaptive Planning, Miagen offers a software as a service (SaaS) platform allowing finance and management teams to collaborate on the planning, monitoring and analysing of financial and operational performance, enabling, according to Miagen, "better, faster and more collaborative decisions and driving a true competitive advantage".
"We are really excited to be working with Etihad, as a dynamic, young, high-achieving organisation that is changing the mould for forecasting and planning in the aviation sector," said Miagen CEO Teddy Murphy.
"With a client like Etihad using our product successfully we see it as an excellent platform to introduce it to other companies.
"Cloud technology is becoming increasingly popular in the region and companies are ready to take their finance departments to the next level which frees up the CFO's time to have a more strategic impact on the business."
Speaking in Dubai during his trade mission to the United Arab Emirates, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: "This is a very exciting announcement and I congratulate Miagen on their continued expansion in the UAE market and their success in winning new business with Etihad Airways.
"It is very encouraging to see Irish companies like Miagen win more and more business with world-leading clients like Etihad. Irish companies are clearly seen as a trusted service provider, delivering top-class solutions to discerning global companies. I wish Miagen and their partners Etihad Airways every continued success."
