Facebook Inc has set its sights on an Indian startup that builds analysis and monitoring tools for Android apps, Reuters reported.

Although the precise terms of the deal were not disclosed, media reports estimate Facebook paid less than $15m for Bangalore-based Little Eye Labs. The purchase occurs at a time when Facebook is seeing growing revenue from its mobile business.

"The Little Eye Labs technology will help us to continue improving our Android codebase to make more efficient, higher-performing apps," said Subbu Subramanian, engineering manager, Facebook.

Little Eye Labs' team is to move to Facebook's Menlo Park, California offices, the company said in a statement on its website.

"We released our official version of Little Eye for Android in early April of this year, and since then we have had many Android developers and testers using Little Eye Labs to measure, analyse, and optimise their app's performance," the company said.
