Ismail says BDL wants to grow its business in the rest of the Gulf region.

Regional distributor BDL Group has relocated its regional headquarters from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to Dubai, the company confirmed the development to Channel Middle East.

The distributor pointed out that its operations in KSA will continue as it looks to develop business in the rest of the Gulf market.

BDL Group CEO Tamer Ismail said the decision to move the regional head office from KSA to Dubai is part of a broader plan to accelerate growth and enhance presence in the rest of the Gulf region.

Ismail said the company is planning to grow its business in the Gulf region just like it has done in KSA and to achieve this, there was need to relocate the regional head office to Dubai. "We have operated the Dubai office since 2006 and from this year we have decided to use it as our base for the regional expansion strategy that BDL has undertaken for the rest of the Gulf region," he said.

Ismail said BDL is targeting 40% business growth in the region in 2014. He added that through the company's four main focus areas that include IT, mobility, tablets and service providers, BDL is well positioned to achieve its objectives. "Our aim this year is to have 50% of our business in the Middle East coming from the Gulf region excluding KSA," he said.

He said the company will also be enhancing its IT product portfolio by bringing on board strategic vendor brands that complement the existing solutions. "We are building our our mobile offerings around Quantum, our own brand of tablets. In addition, we represent six other tablet vendors that include Samsung, MSI, HP, Asus, HCL and Axtrom," he said.
