Logicom signs VAD deal with CommVault

Partnership agreement to cover GCC, Levant

IT distributor Logicom Group today announced it has signed a value-added distribution (VAD) partnership agreement with CommVault Systems Inc.

The contract will cover distribution of CommVault's products and services into Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen and Afghanistan through Logicom's network of resellers and system integrators.

"CommVault's state-of-the-art data management and security solutions are a seamless fit to Logicom's current brand portfolio and they orderly supplement our channel offerings," said Nicholas Argyrides, director of sales and marketing, Distribution at Logicom Group.

"As we anticipate a substantial growth in the data storage and backup verticals, we are confident that our collaboration with CommVault will fully address the needs of our enterprise channel partners."

While Logicom's server and storage portfolio includes major brands like HP, NetApp, Cisco and Dell, a solution gap existed within the data management, backup and recovery, replication and archiving space, which has now been bridged by CommVault's offerings.

Logicom initially plans to focus its efforts on expanding CommVault's footprint in high-growth markets like KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, which are currently experiencing an increased demand for data management solutions, as enterprises grapple with the big data phenomenon.


The distributor intends recruiting a minimum of 15 new partners within the first two quarters of operation and expects to subsequently grow this to 30 partners. Logicom will position CommVault both as a standalone product and also as a part of its data centre integrated-converged architecture offering and is looking at building CommVault into storage value-bundles for its channel partners.

As part of its channel enablement strategy, Logicom will conduct sales and pre-sales training workshops for select partners that have been identified, with the objective of training and certifying them on CommVault products and services. The vendor's sales and pre-sales training modules will be integrated into Logicom's data centre programmes, including webinars and service provider enablement courses. Logicom will also run regular, CommVault-related demo and proof-of-concept sessions for its partners.
