Ailing HTC appoints CFO as sales chief
HTC has endured over two years of declining sales.

Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC Corp today named it current chief financial officer Chialin Chang as global head of sales, Reuters reported.

HTC has endured over two years of declining sales, posting its first-ever quarterly loss for the third quarter of this year.

The company has also been plagued by the departures of senior executives amid the structural changes it is implementing to combat its revenue plunge.

According to a statement today, HTC sees Chang's new role as an opportunity to consolidate operations, and said he would also continue to serve as CFO "until the time a transition of responsibilities makes sense".
