Samsung 2014 flagships to carry 16MP camera?
Reports of parts orders indicate premium imaging tech in Galaxy S5, Note 4
Smartphone market leader Samsung Electronics may introduce a 16MP camera into its next generation of handsets, fan site SamMobile reported.
Citing South Korean media reports that claim Samsung has ordered 181m 16MP camera modules, the site suggested all Samsung flagship models in 2014 would carry the components.
Early reports indicate that Samsung is going to stop focusing on the premium market next year, an arena that is considered by industry analysts to be almost saturated. But SamMobile believes a super-premium Samsung F series is on the way in 2014 and may be home to the new cameras.
Samsung has previously kept its product cycles short, releasing variant devices in between the annual refresh of its principle ranges. If the South Korean vendor follows the same pattern next year then consumers can expect to see the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4.
