Technology solutions vendor Dell has returned to GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to highlight the company’s refreshed tablet range.
The vendor says the new tablet offerings have a business, corporate and education focus and run both Android and Windows platforms.
Neil Hand, Vice President, Tablet & Performance PC Group at Dell, says the pepped up array of tablets include the new Venue 7- and 8-inch Android range, and Venue A8, A10 Pro and 11 Pro Windows array.
Hand says the new portfolio is targeted at a varied audience from your entry level consumer to the high-end business user. “Although we might have sent out mixed messaged with our tablet offerings in the last three years, Dell remains committed to this segment of the market and is looking forward to developing this business in the Middle East,” he says. “We have paid a lot of attention to this business in the past 12 months as we aim to grow the market share of Dell in the tablet segment.”
Hand explains that the company is using GITEX to highlight the various tablet models and how these integrate with other solutions in the PC stable. “We are optimistic that the new tablet offerings will give our partners the competitive edge they need in the cut-throat tablet market,” he says.
Hand says Dell is aiming to capitalise on its success in the desktop and notebook business especially in the education segment in the Middle East with its tablets solutions.
He adds that the distribution channels are expected to play a crucial role in taking the entire portfolio to market.
