Wireless gigabit solutions provider to showcase LTE backhaul product

BridgeWave set to unleash new product
Lucenti: Major launch expected soon.

BridgeWave Communications Inc, a leading supplier of wireless gigabit solutions, including point-to-point wireless bridges, has every reason to be excited about exhibiting at GITEX Technology Week this year. The company is set to make a formal announcement about a major new LTE backhaul product here at the exhibition.

“It is a significant product that takes everything we have done and puts that into a new evolution of the product,” says Augustino Lucenti, Enterprise Vice President of Sales, BridgeWave Communications.

“Really, what we have been trying to do over the last couple of years is try to produce something that has a cost point of microwave but delivers a full gig – or above a gig – and for 4G backhaul.”

While Lucenti did not want to reveal too much about the new product in advance of the event, he said that it would become the company’s new platform moving forward and would eventually “cut across” all the company’s product lines.

He added that BridgeWave hopes to start shipping the product shortly after GITEX and introduce it to its key customers in the Middle East.

The Middle East has already proved itself to be a solid market for BridgeWave. The company reports that it has had huge success with its current product line, Flexport 80, and there are several carriers in the region using it, according to Lucenti.

“The Middle East is the second biggest market for us today and if things carry on the way they are it will be number one,” he added. “There’s not a lot of infrastructure; there is an acceptance of using wireless to solve issues.”

Founded in 1999, BridgeWave delivers high capacity wireless solutions for mobile, carrier, service provider, enterprise, military and government networks.
