StarLink becomes Bit9 META distributor
VAD to supply, install and support Bit9 products and solutions
Regional VAD StarLink has announce that it's been signed by Bit9 Inc to sell, install and support the vendor's offerings through its channel partners across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region.
Tony Shadrake, director, EMEA at Bit9, said: "StarLink has a very powerful advanced persistent threat (APT) story to combat modern malware that includes solutions to automatically protect against zero-day threats at the perimeter, to visualise APT movement across the network, and to automatically remediate against polymorphic and signature-less threats, all of which talk to each other out-of-the-box."
Shadrake said Bit9 recently opened an office in Dubai and hired an experienced team to support its fast-growing Middle East business. "StarLink is the ideal distributor to partner with our local team to expand Bit9's footprint in the region as we enable more customers to secure their endpoints and servers against increasing sophisticated threats. The synergies between our companies are very strong," Shadrake remarked.
Avinash Advani, director, Business Strategy at StarLink added: "There was always one piece missing when we spoke to customers about next-generation threat protection. How do you stop the APT from executing if it were to get into your environment?"
Advani added that this is where Bit9 comes to the rescue as from a single console an IT manager will know what is running on any system at any instant and immediately detect and stop advanced threats, zero-day attacks and malware, plus the solution works both on Windows and Mac platforms, which is unique in the industry.
"All you have to do is set policies that define what software you trust to execute on your systems and everything else is stopped. No execution means no loss of data, no damage to your organisation's reputation and no time-consuming and costly remediation," he added.
