Presitigio has launched a new Intel-based MultiPhone 5430 smartphone in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the company,  the new handset is targeted at the growing number of cost conscious smartphone buyers in the Middle East market who want a phone that has high performance speeds.

The first smartphone in the Prestigio MultiPhone range, which comes with an advanced processor, is equipped with the Intel Atom processor Z2420 with Intel Hyper-Threading technology that can achieve speeds of up to 1.2 GHz. The device enables fast Web browsing, super responsive apps and effortless multi-tasking.

Retailing at AED899, the new phone is available from Sharaf DG retail outlets across UAE and across major retail stores. The device enables impressive multimedia capabilities and a great Android applications experience. It is housed in a compact design and features a 4.3 inch touchscreen display for crisp text and images, support for FM radio and an expandable memory slot for greater flexibility, and HSPA+ modem support with Intel's XMM 6265 modem.

Prestigio says the Intel Atom Z2420 processor brings Intel's classic product strengths and impressive performance to the value segment of the smartphone market. It enables a smooth and responsive user experience, which includes support for the Prestigio MultiPhone 5430's advanced 8MP HD camera that enables users to capture images quickly up to 8 photos a second.

Yuri Antoshkin, COO at Prestigio said: "We are delighted to be working with Intel on this first smartphone initiative which is part of a broader collaboration. It will support the main goal of our company, which is to create the quality, reliability and affordability that is important to our end-‐users."
