Qualcomm's Jay Srage takes on South East Asia
Under expanded role Jay Srage will oversea the Middle East, Africa and SE Asia
Jay Srage, the Middle East & Africa President at wireless technology specialist Qualcomm, will now also lead the company's business operations in South East Asia.
Qualcomm said that the change was part of its "uniform strategy" to drive growth of the mobile industry across emerging markets and help it to capitalise on the synergies between the MEA region and South East Asia.
"Qualcomm is now poised to extract higher growth from both regions where it will enable the complete 3G value chain," the US-based company said in a statement.
Srage has more than 15 years experience in the mobile industry, having spent more than a decade at Texas Instruments (TI) where he oversaw marketing operations for the wireless terminals business unit. Srage also co-managed TI Ventures, the company's venture finance fund, where he directed TI's investments in start-up companies and focused on the wireless and telecoms industries.
Srage joined Qualcomm in 2008.
