VSS Monitoring says Firas Ghanem's appointment is another step forward in its plans to strengthen regional presence.

VSS Monitoring, a provider of network optimisation tools has appointed Firas Ghanem as regional sales director for Middle East and East Africa (MEA) region.

The company says the new appointment is part of a broader strategy of expanding its footprint in the region and Ghanem will be responsible for driving business development and growth in the MEA region.

Eric Hummel, area VP, EMEA at VSS Monitoring said: "To drive VSS' growth and expansion in the region, we needed a regional leader with a deep understanding of the market and experience working with our core target segment of large enterprises, government and service providers. In addition, the individual needed to be highly motivated with astute technical capabilities. Firas has all these characteristics, combined with an exceptional sales track record and we believe that he will greatly contribute to our success in the region."

Hummel said: "The MEA region has great business potential for VSS as organisations are in the process of upgrading and modernising their existing data centres, security and network infrastructure. With this, they require the latest network performance monitoring tools and security solutions.

Ghanem said he was excited at the opportunity of joining a company like VSS Monitoring, which is part of Danaher Corporation, a Fortune 200 company. "I have already started to on-board a strong focused channel base with the assistance of our distributor Westcon," he said.

He said VSS also operates through its global alliances vendor network in the fields of inline active security, security monitoring and analysis, inline performance acceleration and performance monitoring.
