Brocade recruits new SVP of Worldwide Sales
Jeff Lindholm to drive IP/Ethernet and storage networking sales
Network solutions company Brocade today announced it has appointed Jeff Lindholm as its new senior vice president for Worldwide Sales.
Lindholm, who will assume his position on 4 March, will oversee the company's global sales strategy for its entire networking portfolio. His primary objective in this role will be to drive revenues within the IP/Ethernet networking market and to maintain Brocade's position in the storage networking market, through OEM and channel partners as well as system integrators and direct sales.
The announcement comes just one month after Brocade appointed Lloyd Carney as its new CEO. Brocade said the changes "reflect the company's ambition to aggressively target the new opportunities being generated by data center virtualisation, cloud computing and software-defined networking".
Lloyd Carney, to whom Jeff Lindholm will be reporting directly, said, "After careful evaluation of Brocade's current opportunities in the marketplace and consideration for the future direction of the company, I am confident that Jeff has the right mix of industry knowledge, business acumen and leadership skills to drive continued growth in key customer segments and geographies. His extensive background in networking sales and experience with implementing a customer-focused sales approach will undoubtedly solidify Brocade's position as the industry's leading pure-play networking vendor."
Lindholm is a veteran of the IT networking and telecom industry with more than 30 years of experience witch includes several years in key sales and marketing leadership roles for major global organisations. Prior to joining Brocade, he held positions such as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and chief marketing officer at Juniper Networks as well as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Bigband Networks, a next-generation video technology vendor. Most recently he served as the senior vice president of Field Operations at Arbor Networks during which time he managed to lead the expansion of the company in its core markets.
"With the ongoing proliferation of cloud computing and the continued acceptance of nascent technologies like fabric-based network architectures and software-defined networking, Brocade is well positioned to lead in the exciting transformation taking place in the networking industry today," said Jeff Lindholm.
"This will require discipline, operational excellence and high levels of collaboration among teams. I am committed to leading a talented sales organisation and ensuring that we have the right sales strategy in place that will enable us to quickly respond to customer needs and fully capitalise on these opportunities as they present themselves."
