The Dubai Computer Group (DCG) is warning its members to be extra careful following a warehouse theft involving 139 laptops in Dubai's Jabel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).

The local IT trade industry association, which comes under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has confirmed in an alert to members that 18 Asus laptops model K55A-SX096R and 121 Fujitsu notebooks model LB-AH532/G21 GL/i5 3210M/4G were stolen from an unnamed warehouse in JAFZA.

An alert sent by DCG to all its members advised: "We would like to inform you that there has been a theft in one warehouse in Jabel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and about 140 laptops have been stolen. If you have information that could lead to the recovery of these goods, do inform the DCG coordinator immediately."

Details about the theft incident are still murky, but the DCP has appealed to all its members to report any individuals or company that may have bought the stolen goods.
