UAE police seize fake Brother toner cartridges

Over six thousand counterfeit printer cartridges discovered in Ajman warehouse

UAE police seize fake Brother toner cartridges
Police in Dubai and Ajman acted against the supplier of fake Brother cartridges.

Police in Ajman have seized over six thousand counterfeit printer cartridges and other consumables from a warehouse.

The seizure uncovered 6,200 fake Brother-brand toner cartridges. Brother has been tipped off by traders in Dubai that a number of companies were selling fake cartridges in the Emirate. The company co-operated with UAE authorities to raid the outlets that were selling fake cartridges.

The investigation then led to Ajman, where the original trader of fake products was using a warehouse to store more counterfeits. Authorities in Ajman then raided the warehouse.

In a statement from the company, Brother said: "This is a big victory for Brother and also for the fight against product piracy in the UAE. Brother thanked the local authorities for their swift action that has not only led to the seizure of counterfeit toners but also the punishment of traders who have been proliferating these products across the country."
