Du launches MDM solution
Telco to offer scalable MobileIron-powered toolset for both cloud and on-premise rollout
The UAE's number-two operator du today announced it is launching a mobile device management (MDM) solution built on MobileIron.
MDM allows a distributed framework for the monitoring of mobile devices in a corporate ecosystem for the purposes of intellectual property protection, policy enforcement, resource management and data backup.
Du said its solution allows the inclusion of any mobile device within a network, delivering end-to-end integrated security for multiple operating systems, data loss prevention (DLP) controls for email attachments, certificate-based identity, app and document containerisation, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) privacy protection, and automated closed-loop compliance.
"More and more companies realise, that in the fast paced lives of employees today, they prefer the convenience of using their personal mobile devices for work which would entail organisations monitoring their devices, without compromising any employee's privacy," said Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer, du.
"Additionally, this proves to be a challenge for an organisation's IT department to maintain control of sensitive information. Our MDM is the ideal managed services solution for maintaining the privacy of each employee, while also maintaining security and control over which individuals are able to access these files. All the data is encrypted prior to transfer with MobileIron providing delivery, configuration, data-in-motion and data-at-rest protection for email, applications, documents and Web services."
According to du the solution is scalable to thousands of devices and is available as a cloud service as well as an on-premise model, supported by MobileIron VSP for on-premise deployments and the MobileIron Connected Cloud for cloud deployments.
Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, said: "Du's ability to innovate and provide exceptional communication services to its customers makes it a leader in the UAE's telecommunication industry. Mobile is radically changing how people do their work and we are pleased to collaborate with du to give organisations a complete Mobile IT platform so they can use mobile to transform their businesses."
