OMA Emirates delivers card management in Nepal
NanoSwitch solution brings card management to Himalayan Bank
Payment technology specialist OMA Emirates-Solution Gulf today announced the completion of NanoSwitch for Nepal-based Himalayan Bank Ltd.
NanoSwitch, a fully integrated banking Switch and Card Management System (CMS), enables the management of ATM and POS devices and acts as the central interface for all payment and banking activities. Built on an open platform, the indigenous NanoSwitch has been designed to be compatible with legacy systems deployed by banks.
"Himalayan Bank Ltd is set to benefit from all the features of a complete back-office [solution] for managing electronic banking; real-time application to manage ATM and POS terminals; and real-time application to manage authorisations by Visa, MasterCard, and Amex," said OMA.
The NanoSwitch is built to communicate with the information system of the bank and with the CMS that includes both Credit and Debit issuance modules. Being ISO and APACS compliant, the solution meets all the requisite security standards set by Visa and Mastercard, according to OMA. The system supports Visa Base I, Base II and Master Card CIS and MDS processing requirements.
"A clear understanding of a solution that required no drastic changes in the system at Himalayan Bank Ltd, together with our strong in-house team of software developers, positioned OMA Emirates-Solution Gulf to provide a full-fledged flexible system that takes cognisance of the entire issuance and acquiring requirements of Himalayan Bank Ltd," said Niranj Sangal, group CEO, OMA Emirates-Solution Gulf.
"Moreover our indigenous solution was highly cost-effective from the financial aspect of the project."
