Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) has signed Aruba Networks to provide next generation wireless connectivity across its Dubai headquarters.

Aruba’s Ap 105 and Ap 125 controllers will deliver connectivity to indoor and public areas, and the project will also deploy a firewall and RF Protect license for policy enforcement and intrusion prevention. Aruba’s Airwave technology will be used for centralized control and management of mobile users connecting to the network.

Abdulsalam Al Bastaki, vice president for IT at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: “Aruba Networks approached us with a value-for-money proposal and comprehensive solution incorporating design, hardware, firewall, and management. This will allow DSOA to put in place a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi solution that supports multiple applications and services. We are confident the new system will offer us the flexibility to provide our staff and guests with secured and regulated access to our network.”

In future, DSOA and Aruba Networks will also develop services to sublet the Wi-Fi network to tenats of the authority, to provide voice over wireless, and enable additional expansion on indoor Wi-Fi for internal users and guests.

Ammar Enaya, general manager for Middle East at Aruba Networks, said: “Working with DSOA demonstrates our understanding of the demands placed on a wireless network by a government sector organisation, particularly the need for highly secure and controlled access within a cost effective solution. Aruba Networks’ implementation additionally reiterates that tools allowing complete control seamlessly ease the management of wireless networks within a sensitive environment.”
