Comguard will also provide partner training on the vendor’s security software offerings

Comguard to distribute Tripwire in Middle East
The decision to go with Comguard was based on its VAD credentials, consultancy and channel training capability, says Geytenbeek.

Regional IT security solutions VAD Comguard, has signed a distribution agreement with Tripwire, an IT security software vendor that provides data security, monitoring and regulatory compliance tools.

In terms of the deal, Comguard will supply the regional channel with the entire range of Tripwire's security management and compliance tools. In addition, Tripwire states that Comguard will not only represent the company's vendor functions in the Middle East, but will also be the authorised training partner in the region.

Peter Geytenbeek, EMEA channel director at Tripwire, said the company is delighted to have partnered with Comguard as its sole distributor in the Middle Eastbecause the company has an established track record in distributing IT security solutions in the regional channel. "With their market expertise, we believe that Comguard is the right distribution partner that will connect us to the rest of the channel ecosystem in the region," he said. "Once we found that Comguard had all the traits we were looking for, it was easy for us to appoint them."

Geytenbeek said the decision to go with Comguard was also based on the distributor's credentials in value-add distribution, consultancy and providing training to partners. "We were looking for a distributor that has expertise in security solutions, partner management and recruitment, and professional services," he said.

Geytenbeek explained that Comguard's appointment also paves the way for the company to launch its Tripwire Partner Program in the Middle East. "The programme is already running in Europe and now that we have a distributor and authorised training partner in Comguard, we will be rolling out the initiative in the MEA region," he said.

He said the partner programme will be managed by Comguard and will provide partners with a range of benefits that include: enablement plans for partners, deal registration and protection, sales pipeline development, pre-sales support and professional services.

Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO at Comguard, said: "This alliance allows us and our channel partners in the region to offer high quality security monitoring and compliance tools along with our existing solutions within the stable, enabling partners to work on bigger projects."

Chauhan said Tripwire's IT security software reduces risk, ensures systems and data security, and automates regulatory compliance. "Tripwire offerings solve the security configuration management, continuous monitoring, and incident detection problems facing organisations of all sizes, as stand-alone solutions or in concert with other IT security controls. We are confident that this partnership will create opportunities for Tripwire to grow in the fast-paced IT security industry in the Middle East," he said.
