“You can download and steal music, but you can’t steal the headphones,” said rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson at the launch of his new headphone range.

Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson officially launched his SMS AUDIO brand of headphones at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK at a joint press conference with Shift LLC, SMS Audio’s official partner in the MENA region.

When asked what truly set his product apart from the rest of the headphones and earphones currently on the market, Jackson told GITEX Times that: “[We’ve] created something that’s not already available in the market now.”

He continued: “For example, the Sync by 50, a wireless headset by SMS Audio that is currently available, allows its user to be 50ft away from a single source of music but not experience any distortion. Dubai is the perfect springboard to launch SMS Audio, because the Emirate is famous for its pursuit of high standards. I’m honoured to contribute to that legacy through the quality of these hi-tech headphones.”

Jackson’s future plans, specifically in the MENA region, include partnering up with Dubai Autism Centre, where a donation will be made to the centre for every SMS Audio product sold, within a set period.

Sara Ahmad Baker of the Dubai Autism Centre expressed her gratitude to SMS Audio, saying: “50 Cent has shown that, despite all the fame and achievements, he is first, and foremost, a caring human being.”

Curtis, who was involved with whole process of developing the headphones, expressed his amazement at GITEX: “It’s like walking through the future. You get to see gadgets you will see in the future. If you don’t adapt you will be left behind, so you have to be open minded and willing to adjust to things and the new way of doing things.”
