FVC is exhibiting Polycom’s range of unified communication products at its stand at GITEX TECHOLOGY WEEK.

Among these products are Polycom’s Real Presence solution (RPX), as well as its CIE (Customer Immersive Experience).

The CIE solution uses collaborative technology from Polycom and Microsoft’s Lync Solutions to deliver unified communication that allows enterprise users to collaborate from the desk, on the road, at home or in a conference room. Polycom targets these technologies towards key industry verticals including oil and gas, healthcare, education and the financial sector.

Glynn Jones, Vice President, Advanced Technology Group, Polycom says: “We have been at GITEX for many years. For us it’s important to be present at trade shows to expose our solutions to the market and the region. Polycom has collaboration solutions, with steps towards true ubiquity. There is a new range in cross performance, with more efficient protocols in terms of how they transfer information across networks to each other. The aim is also to provide a much more user-friendly
user interface.

“We’ve announced solutions that enable greater scalability and extensibility in terms of access to conferences in the cloud. Be it private cloud, public cloud or even hybrid solutions that are the case in most organisations. This also supports different types of applications to come into the same conference.

“If a Skype user wants to join a conference then they can, the same with a Microsoft Lync user. It can bring all of these disparate technologies together to the same conference,” Polycom’s Jones adds.
