Exploring new avenues for shopping
Dubai’s Department of Economic Development to launch region’s first online mall
After launching megamalls like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, Dubai could not have been far behind on the e-shopping front. At this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, Dubai’s Department of Economic Development unveiled plans for the region’s first online shopping mall, Tejuri.com. Customers can now purchase their favourite brands without leaving their homes.
The e-mall will build on the technology employed by Tejari FZE, the B2B online portal for supply management technologies and professional services. Through a one stop e-shop platform, Tejuri will provide shoppers with the opportunity to evaluate all the choices available to them, including access to new products in a secure 24X7 location. Online security will be provided through a secure e-payment gateway with fraud protection tools brought in by Visa and Cybersource.
“This is an exciting moment for us as Tejuri marks another step towards cultivating a competitive business environment by using technology to narrow the gap between the retailer and the consumer,” says Suhail Albanna, CEO of Tejari. “Tejuri will add a new dimension to the shopping experience that Dubai is famous for by building on our successful B2B platform, Tejari. We are proud to have initiated this important new portal, which is in line with Dubai Government’s commitment to advance technologies that simplify interactions in the e-marketplace.”
Tejuri LLC will soon announce the official launch date for the online mall at www.Tejuri.com.
