DIC hub designed to engender sharing of ideas

In5 strives to tap local entrepreneurial spirit
Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Business Development at Dubai Internet City says In5 is hopeful that there are lots of ICT entrepreneurs in Dubai.

In5 entrepreneurship hub, created by Dubai Internet City, is asking all entrepreneurs, whether they have just an idea, or a fully fledged entrepreneurial company, to come and speak to it at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2012 at the In5 stand in Concourse 2.

“We want entrepreneurs to share their knowledge, share their experiences and to gain further experiences from colleagues and companies and benefit out of it. We urge anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit or an idea, to share it with us,” says Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Business Development at DIC.

In5 is very optimistic about the number of entrepreneurs in Dubai, and has developed the In5 hub as a venue for them to share ideas. The incubator wants to encourage individuals, and companies interested in supporting or mentoring them to register with In5 to form a community for entrepreneurship.

In5 was developed almost a year ago and focuses on ICT start-ups based in Dubai. The incubator is currently in its first phase of development, and as it grows, DIC is looking at getting more partners on board to build a hub for entrepreneurship and develop more services for ICT start-ups.

Al Suwaidi says that local ICT start-ups have great potential, especially in areas such as mobility and the development of digtal content.

In5 is planning to expand further as the programmes develop and have more events and more information that will help regional entrepreneurs build on their ideas.

“Whatever you require from an entrepreneurial ecosystem, our aim is to provide it,” says Al Suwaidi.
