ADSIC to highlight Abu Dhabi digital emergence
Government ICT overseer to demo key government e-services
The Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), which oversees Abu Dhabi's ICT projects, today announced its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2012.
ADSIC will showcase its project portfolio that is designed to transform the emirate into "a digital, knowledge-based society".
ADSIC will also be evaluating the array of global trends and innovations in technology on display, with a view to adopting those products and solutions seen as enablers for its vision of a digital community.
ADSIC will also demo key e-services it offers to the public and private sectors. Four initiatives will be featured: Abudhabi.ae, the Abu Dhabi e-Government Portal; the 24-hour Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre; the Jobs Abu Dhabi recruitment website; and the Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure (AD-SDI), a programme that facilitates the sharing of geospatial data among government agencies and other stakeholders.
"GITEX has had a great influence in drawing businesses, consumers, investors and experts from around the world to explore the Middle East's vast ICT potential," said HisExcellency Rashed Lahej Al Mansouri, director general, Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre.
"ADSIC considers this event an important platform for showcasing Abu Dhabi's ICT maturity and its exceptional use of technology to pursue its goal of becoming one of the world's top governments. We are very eager to show the world how we are tapping ICT to optimise governance and public services via our participation in GITEX. We also look forward to being updated on the latest technological developments that can further advance Abu Dhabi's e-transformation."
