DHA to showcase next-gen health tech at GITEX
Web-based and mobile solutions to deliver ‘tools for healthier lifestyle’
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) today announced it is preparing to demo a range of new health technologies at GITEX Technology Week 2012.
"We constantly strive to stay ahead of the latest health technologies in order to generate two-way benefits: on one hand we will dramatically amplify the user experience for our treasured community; and on the other hand we will greatly enhance our operational efficiency," said His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, director general of DHA.
The launches will include online and mobile platforms as well as more fringe innovations in fields such as virtual technology. DHA's aim is to leverage Dubai's growing Internet and mobile penetration rates - the region's highest - to deliver client-centered health data via a Web or mobile interface. Web solutions are considered particularly beneficial as they will connect health facilities, insurers and other stakeholders.
The DHA is confident the new solutions will allow it to realize its goals of "enhanced access, better health, improved quality and enhanced efficiency of healthcare".
His Excellency explained: "Our philosophy is that health awareness should not only be addressed at hospital level, but integrated into everyday life. That is why we are nurturing this health-conscious mindset by engaging our public in the comfort of their home, work or social environment. We empower them with the information tools they need to lead a healthier lifestyle. The cumulative effect is that we are placing a dual emphasis on prevention as well as cure."
