Internet technology specialist Buzinessware has launched a new service to help SMEs in the Middle East to establish an online retail presence.

The ‘Shopware' service is intended to give SMEs and entrepreneurs an easy and affordable way to set up an online shop, without the need for any technical knowledge.

The service will include 24x7 local support, SEO, customizable design templates, inventory control, shipping and logistics, secure payment methods, e-vouchers and other features.

Buzinessware said that SMEs in the region risk missing out on online retail, a market that is expected to reach $2.2bn by 2016, as they have not established web presence or e-commerce operations.

"Retailers need to embrace online as part of their operational/ marketing strategy to boost sales; as well as meet the changing dynamics of today's consumer. The Internet offers a ready marketplace and an ability to reach a vast and global audience," said Sajid Iqbal, co-founder and director of Strategy and Operations, Buzinessware. "Our expertise positions us to offer an all-in-one e-commerce platform in the UAE. Suitable for new entrants into eCommerce, Shopware allows retailers to own an online shop instantly with several in-built, secure and uncomplicated features without huge upfront and ongoing costs."
