Gemalto touts innovations
Company will show patented E-Go technology for first time in Middle East
Gemalto will focus on the theme of innovation at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK. Hisham Surakhi, director of Gemalto Middle East, says this will be reflected in the products and services it will be demonstrating.
With this in mind, the company will show, for the very first time in the Middle East, its latest patented E-Go technology.
“Gemalto’s E-Go solution is a unique and innovative way to establish secure authentication and bi-directional wireless communication between objects or individuals in the future internet of things, based on a bootstrapping scheme using the electrical conductivity of human skin,” says Surakhi. “With E-Go technology, what you touch becomes yours and you’ll be able to authorise a transaction simply by touching a digital device.
Payment solutions will be another highlight at the show, where the company will showcase the latest contactless payment technologies using contactless banking cards or NFC mobile payment solutions. On the public sector side, Gemalto will also be demonstrating the third generation of its Coesys eGovernment 2.0 solution.
This secure authentication platform is being implemented in Qatar and Oman. With this solution, citizens can log on to eGovernment services in a simple, secure way and sign online documents using their eID cards or their mobile phone thanks to Mobile Signature and Mobile PKI technology.
Gemalto has to date supported 30 Middle Eastern banks in their migration from magnetic stripe to chip cards. In the public sector, Gemalto provides eID cards to six GCC countries.
