Jumbo is offering some fabulous products through its Gitex Knockdown auctions, says Bhatia.

Electronics retailer Jumbo has launched a series of online auctions for its Facebook fans in the run up to Gitex Shopper.

The retailer will be running one auction per day from 22nd to 19th September, with bidding starting at just one dirham for devices including mobile phones and iPads and an LED TV.

Vishesh Bhatia, CEO, Jumbo Electronics said: "The world has changed and customers love all kinds of electronics and gadgets today. The Gitex Knockdown is our teaser promotion to the main Gitex shopper and is using a fun and interactive online auction campaign to engage our Facebook fans in an exciting chase for some fabulous products.

"Consumers in UAE wait all year for the Gitex Shopper event to start; so this year we decided to make the seven days before the start more exciting than ever before. Our social media auction will give everyone a flavour of the great Jumbo offers and deals we will offer at Gitex Shopper," he added.

The auctions will run from 9am to 9pm through a special Facebook app. Facebook users can become a fan of Jumbo by clicking the ‘Like' button on Jumbo's page ‘Jumbo World' (https://www.facebook.com/JumboElectronics). The auctions are open to UAE residents only.

Gitex Shopper runs from 29th September to 6th October at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
