PC manufacturer has expanded its IdeaPad product line to include the IdeaPad S300 and S400 laptops. The IdeaPad range is Lenovo's budget offering of laptops designed for portability and performance.

At a thickness of less than an inch and a weight of 1.8kg, the S Series features a metallic finish powered by a third-gen Intel Core processor.

"As a global leader in the PC market, Lenovo's success rests on our ability to deliver consumer-centric innovations in products that deliver a blend of mobility, performance and price," said Ahmed Khalil, general manager, Lenovo, UAE and Gulf.

"Customers don't just want a functional product, though; they also want one that speaks to their sense of style and individuality. The new Lenovo IdeaPad S Series laptops give everyday consumers exactly what they need by matching small size and light weight with the power needed for everything from Web browsing to productivity tasks, all in an affordable package."

Khaldoun Aboul-Saoud, Intel regional manager for market development GCC & ME added, "There is a hunger amongst today's consumers for devices that allow for greater mobility. The new Lenovo S Series is a prime example of a thin and light notebook that is designed for modern requirements."

Lenovo IdeaPad S300 and S400 laptops are available with Intel's 3rd generation Core i3 or i5 processors. Up to 500GB hard disk storage capacity is also on offer. In addition, adaptive energy management features deliver battery life of up to 5 hours and are also designed to protect the long-term durability of the battery.

All of the new S Series laptops feature Windows 7 Home Basic and will be eligible for the Windows 8 upgrade offer. Designed for Windows 8, Lenovo says the updated S Series' intelligent touchpad gives users a more controlled experience when scrolling and zooming, while the AccuType keyboard with individual rounded keys is intended to provide a platform for comfortable and accurate typing.

Also provided is Lenovo Quick Start "instant on" functionality to get online in seconds. Data protection is implemented through Lenovo's OneKey Rescue System, which covers back up, restore, and recovery from corrupted system files as well as virus protection.

Colour options include crimson red, silver grey and cotton-candy pink. AV features include stereo speakers and Dolby® Advanced Audio v2 certification with up to a 14-inch HD widescreen display and HDMI output.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S300 and S400 will be available starting 29 September, 2012.
