Hermes Datacomms Middle East, a UK-based Wide Area Network communications specialist has secured a contract to provide microwave and fibre connectivity to a construction conglomerate in Iraq.

Hermes Datacomms won a contract from the Iraqi operation of Consolidated Contractors Company, a pan-regional conglomerate involved in the construction sector.

Hermes will provide a dedicated managed fibre circuit and 24/7 Network Operations support (NOC) in a 12 month time frame.

Kevin Thorley, CEO, Hermes Datacomms Middle East, said: "Our aim is to ensure that all our Middle East customers are provided with in-depth, direct and extensive support and a more dependable and secure service."

Hermes Datacomms was awarded a trading licence for Iraq in late 2011 and, since that time, has been working with partners to delivery projects involving fibre and last mile access, VSAT services, fixed, mobile and microwave services.
