Security VAD to distribute Delphix database virtualisation solutions in Middle East

Comguard takes on Delphix database solutions
Delphix solutions help control the explosion in data facing many organisations, says Jayadevan.

Comguard has signed a deal to distribute Delphix's line of database virtualization software in the Middle East.

The security-focused VAD will supply Delphix products, to meet growing demand for solutions that can help manage increasing database storage requirements.

Delphix' database virtualisation solutions reduce database storage costs and increase application team productivity. Unlike server virtualization products, Delphix eliminates the storage expansion driven by production databases and the seven to ten supporting copies created in most organizations, relieving budget pressures driven by Big Data. Ten copies of a 30 TB data warehouse would result in 300 TB of storage consumption on physical infrastructure but as little as 20 TB on Delphix.

Jayadevan K, senior vice president, Value Business at Comguard, said: "The biggest challenge today is controlling the explosion of data growth. Delphix redefines virtualization for enterprises through the creation of a new virtualization layer for data. Comguard in association with Delphix will provide enterprises in the region a comprehensive database virtualization that can cut the cost of data management by 90%."

Jamie Stone, regional director, EMEA, Delphix, added: "We are glad to join hands with Comguard and are sure that with region-wide reach and understanding of technology, Delphix will be able to carve out a niche for itself in this region by providing the most effective solution to enterprises in the region which will help them to increase their productivity as well as reduce their database storage costs."
