E-City now has 4 branches in the UAE.

Electronics retailer E-City has opened a new outlet in the Dubai Mall.

The store is the company's fourth store in the UAE, and it now has a presence in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

E-City, which is part of the Sharjah-based Al Batha Retail & Home Products Group, plans to open another six stores in 2012 and 2013.

The chain, which was established in 2008, says that it is increasing its focus on gadget lines, as these account for 75% of its business.

Muhammad Ali Khan, general manager, E-City General Trading LLC said: "Our parent Group is committed to retail business expansion. This vision has enabled E-City to achieve strong, double-digit growth. The tremendous growth is fuelled by rising demand for electronic gadgets like notebooks, tablet PCs, smartphones, cameras and gaming. Some of these categories that have registered an incredible 100% growth will be the focus products for E-City."
