Samsung has launched its latest travel zoom camera, the WB850F SMART camera.

The camera has a 21x optical zoom and packs a 16.2MP sensor. It also works on the latest BSI CMOS technology and is said to reduce image noise and distortion, even in low light conditions. The back of the camera houses a 3-inch VGA AMOLED screen for crystal clear detail of recently clicked pictures.

The WB850F is WiFi enabled and allows users to share experience with friends and family back home. Users can email photos or upload them directly to social networking sites such as Facebook and Picasa. The camera also allows users to upload videos to YouTube in a few simple steps.

Samsung has also introduced GPS functionality in the camera, which uses Live Landmark to enhance journeys and enable map downloads. The built-in digital compass can give users their location and distance to certain locations, whilst the MapView feature allows for download of maps in order to explore foreign cities.

"Samsung's SMART camera technology is a game changer. We've raised the bar with these devices as we continue to revolutionize how people interact with their cameras," said Raj Varma, GM of the IT division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "We added groundbreaking Wi-Fi functions to our zoom camera, building on the brilliant image quality that high-quality sensor and zoom lens provide - now with the ability to share images like never before," he added.

The Samsung SMART WB850F camera is available in the UAE and carries a retail price tag of AED 1,499 ($408).
