Apple rumoured to be working on 'mini' iPad
Reports suggest Apple is looking to make tablet with 8 inch or smaller screen
Apple is rumoured to be preparing to launch a new ‘mini' iPad.
According to reports in the Wall Street Journal, Apple is working with manufacturers on a new tablet device that will have a smaller screen than the current generation of iPad.
Since launch, the iPad has had a 9.7 inch screen, larger than the 7 inch devices featured on devices such as the Google Nexus, but not the largest screen on the market.
According to unconfirmed reports, Apple is working with South Korean LG Display Co. and Taiwanese AU Optronics Co on the new device, but the actual screen size has not been confirmed.
Analysts said it was unlikely that any smaller device would be pitched at a lower price point to compete with devices such as the Amazon Kindle.
Apple did not comment on the report.
