Digital Services Unit to promote advanced technology to Etisalat Group customers

Etisalat sets up Digital Services unit
Etisalat's Digital Services Unit will handle a range of different technology services.

Etisalat has announced the formation of a Digital Services Unit, and the appointment of Khalifa Al Shamsi as chief digital services officer, to head the unit.

The Etisalat Digital Services Unit will focus on a range of different activities, including machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies, cloud services, digital advertising and entertainment, advanced communications and video services. The unit has been established with the aim of delivering advanced services to customers across the whole of the Etisalat Group, and in all areas of operation.

Al Shamsi moves to the role from his previous position as senior vice president of technology strategy for Etisalat Group. He joined the company as a graduate trainee 19 years ago and has held a number of management jobs within the telecoms operator.
