Sony has released its latest interchangeable lens camera, the NEX-7, in the Middle East.

The NEX-7 is intended to deliver the professional image quality of a DSLR, in a compact body with built in picture options and video recording.

The camera has a magnesium alloy body and weighs 291g. The device features the newly-developed Exmor HD APS CMOS sensor, for D-SLR-like professional picture quality with 24.3 megapixel resolution. It is also teamed with the latest revision of Sony's BIONZ image processing engine.

The camera is capable of ultra-rapid shooting responses and flawless image quality with super-low noise when shooting still images or Full HD videos. It has an ISO range of 100-16000, for high sensitivity in low light conditions, and also includes auto focus and object tracking functions.

The NEX-7 comes with an intuitive new TRINAVI control, which has two control dials on the top of the camera which are complemented by a control wheel. Pushing the navigation button cycles quickly through various shooting modes allows enthusiasts to make custom adjustments and control images with the flexibility of a DSLR camera.

The NEX-7 is also the world's first compact camera that is equipped with an XGA OLED TruFinder, that allows accurate framing of images, and a 7.5cm LCD screen as well.

The camera has 11 modes and 15 effects built in, including new HDR Painting, Soft Focus, Miniature and Rich-Tone Mono, and artistic imaging functions including 3D Sweep Panorama, Soft Skin, Auto HDR, Handheld Twilight and Anti Motion Blur Modes.

The NEX-7 is available from Jumbo Electronics showrooms in the UAE priced at AED 4,999.
